Hi Everyone,

Today I went to see my Uncle and his wife, we had lunch at a Lebanese restaurant and then went over to his apartment. We took lots of photos and of his cat Loulou she is a Persian pure bred cat. It was a fun day. :D

I return to Montreal on Monday, I am excited, and the next day is Valentines day! Heh right on time to celebrate with my boyfriend. What are you plans for the weekend? Send me some comments :)

Beirut Landscape

Surrender Time

Hi Everyone,

I have ten more days of vacation left. Today we are going to church for the first Friday of the month. Tomorrow I'm going out with some friends, I'm excited. I did my aerobics class this morning and it was an amazing work out. :D When I get back to Montreal I'll have to sign up for an aerobics class :) The weather was beautiful in Beirut today, so sunny and warm. My sister managed to take some photos of me. I submitted my editorial I was working on during vacation to Turn Magazine yesterday. Vintage Dress

Hi Everyone,

I have two more weeks of vacation until I come back to Montreal. I am enjoying my time so far. Since my stay for a week and half I was working on a knitted scarf and I knitted both ends together to make it a circle scarf. It's very warm, today I'll start on a matching hat of two colors with a flower. I'll be sure to post it when it's done. I've had this vintage dress for a while but I never got to get photos of me wearing it, so today my sister took some photos of me wearing the dress and scarf. I hope you like it! Mountain Side

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I went to the mountains and my sister managed to take some photos of me. Their was some snow in the mountains, it was really beautiful. We went to a large mountain and took some city scape shots of Beirut. I haven't edited them yet, so maybe later I'll do a landscape post of all the landscape shots I've taken here so far.

So far I am enjoying my trip, I still have a while to go three more weeks :D It is so much warmer here than in Montreal, for that I am happy at least. I miss my boyfriend a lot and my Mom. Today I went to the mall and watched My week with Marilyn, it was a beautiful film. I hope everyone had a great weekend :D

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I haven't written in a while, or posted for that matter. I'm on vacation in Beirut, Lebanon. I took some photographs of the garden today, since I arrived it was raining and pouring for a week. The rain finally stopped and the sun came out today. The garden is fresh with fruits and beautiful flowers. I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I do.

Hi Everyone,

This morning I went for breakfast with my friend Laura, and this was my outfit. I went to work in the afternoon and at the end of my shift my boyfriend was waiting for me :D I went to his car and he gave me my Christmas gifts a bit early... a really sweet card and Loverdose by Diesel perfume. Hi Everyone,

This year my family and I decided not to go with the "gift giving," so instead we are going to maybe go the Opera or watch a play. For the rest of the gifts I have to give friends, I am either baking muffins or making cookies and really nice cards :D I'm seeing lots more of my friends too. Yesterday I went ice skating with Phoebe and it was really fun, she taught me a lot since she used to be a figure skater when she was younger. In January I am going to see my grandparents for a month with my sister, I am really excited. In any case, I'm having breakfast with my friend Laura tomorrow and she agreed to take some photos of me :D I'm going with a long flowey maxi dress from The Limited with my new booties, and today I bought some really warm burgundy tights from Pretty Polly.

So stay tuned for that! I'd also like to know what you guys are doing for the Holidays!

Hi Everyone,

I had a great weekend, Saturday I stayed home and cleaned a lot of my room, organized my closet and made a pile of clothes to photograph and sell or to give away, and Sunday I spent the day with my boyfriend. I went to church in the morning and afterwards he took me out for a nice break feast at Chez Cora's. We did a bit of shopping and then went for a massage. He took me home, and I had dinner with my family. We made steaks and I made potatoes and salad. Overall it was a great day. :D

Today I went for breakfast with my boyfriend, and I brought my ferret over to his house for a playdate with his ferret. I have one big exam left on Tuesday and then I'm done! On Wednesday I am modeling for a photographer friend, it will be the third time he photographs me. I'm pretty excited. Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I had an amazing studio shoot with a great team of individuals. Designer Karen Vaquilar of Remy & Mercy, make up artist Aisha Tabasum, and a young model called Amanda. The make up and clothing were excellent, ontop of that I had a gigantic studio to use. I decided to go with a grey neutral background to really show off the clothing and details. A gigantic reflector helped me to bring that extra illumination needed for the shots. I've only edited one shot so far as a preview, but for now I'll be working on posting the whole collection in about two weeks time. Please stay updated to see the final results. I also had an excellent American thanksgiving with my family, I hope you had a great weekend!

Yesterday was our first snowfall of the winter in Montreal. It was very cold and slippery, but despite this my friend Katherine agreed to come and see me and hang out. We had coffee and went shopping. Here are the photos we took. :D

Elsa's Chicken and Basmati Rice Caserole (with Dijon Mustard)

You will need:

1 onion

1/2 cup Dijon mustard

1/3 cup Regular mustard (optional)

1/4 cup olive oil

1/3 cup milk

2 cups Basmati rice (can be changed)

2 lemons

1/2-2 lbs Boneless skinless chicken thighs

tablespoon salt

dash of pepper

2 cups water

Preparation:

Step 1. In a medium sized bowl, add Dijon mustard with olive oil. Stir and then add milk and your squeezed lemon juice. Add salt and pepper. Mix in chicken poking small holes with a fork in chicken allowing the sauce to seep through.

Step 2: Cut your onion in thin slices and cook until golden brown in a skillet.

Step 3: Cook rice separately in a rice cooker or in small pot. (For every one cup rice add two cups water)

(Note: one cup of rice will feed two people, you can make as much as you need, two cups rice will feed 3 or 4 people).

Step 4: In a large casserole place chicken and sauce. Add cooked onions on top and make sure to mix them well with the chicken. This will bring flavour to the dish.

Step 5: Heat oven at 375F (depending on your oven) at Conventional Bake

Step 6: Cook chicken for 20 minutes, turn over and cook for an additional fifteen minutes

Preparation time: 10-20 minutes

Cooking time: 35 minutes

Serve separately. Enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

This morning at 9a.m I went to get my hair cut and highlights done at Aveda. I got there at 9a.m and since it was my first time getting highlights it took me a long time to figure out exactly what I wanted before the hairdresser could start, so after decided at about 10a.m they started bleaching strands of hair in the front, after about an hour and half, they rinsed it out and applied the colouring. It may not be very noticeable to you guys but I did go two shades lighter. This week I went to H&M with my friend Jeff and picked up these really cute teal jeans, that really go with a lot of things. I hope you notice the change!

Hi Everyone,

I feel bad for not blogging! I was in the U.S last week on vacation and unfortunately I didn't bring my camera with me, my Canon 5D was in Montreal getting repairs done and they had finished two days after I arrived. When I came back I did a fashion shoot with Katia in the Old Port on Friday and I am really happy with the shots I got. I didn't have much time to do editing yet but I did edit one photo so far. For the first outfit I did a fall look, beige skinny jeans with a white blouse and a beautiful vintage blazer, laced up shoes and a red hat (which is all owned by me). The second outfit we did was a beautiful European dress with a purse and heels and was all styled by her. Here is one of the shots. Hi Everyone,

My Canon 5D has been getting repairs and I should hopefully get it back this week. It's been gone for about a month and so I've been using my back-up, the Canon 20D. I am taking a trip to the States next Saturday for a week and I am planning to get the Canon 5D Mark II while I am there. So I maybe possibly selling my Canon 5D, I don't know anyone who would want a 20D. Apart from that I just finished my summer class and next week I am shooting an ad for Pharmaprix Iles Des Soeurs. I'm really excited about it, I will be working with Jessica again as the female model and there will also be a male model. The theme of the shoot is Paris chic so tomorrow I'm going shopping for the outfits. I'll be excited to show you some of those photos. Here is a photo I took of my boyfriends ferret Toby today. Fundraiser for Doggoned, a short film on immigrant angst and race relations

This weekend I spent working in the Art Department as a set dresser on a short film called DOGGONED written and Directed by Arshad Khan. I got to take some photos on set mostly the last two days of shooting. It is going to be a very beautiful film and I'm excited to see it. They are having a fundraiser on Saturday night (the 13th) at Cafe L'Artere 7000 Parc Avenue, 7p.m, so if you are interested in joining it will be a lot of fun. Tonight I went to Baton Rouge with my boyfriends family to celebrate his brothers birthday. This summer I have the honor of participating in a short film called DOGGONED by Arshad Khan.

The comedic film is about a non-status, hipster, brown...girl whose work permit has been denied so she must rely on odd jobs and a wild imagination in order to make ends meet. I will be working as the Set Dresser as well as possibly having a speaking role in the film as the main characters friend! In total we must raise at least $5000 to make this film possible. Sorry I haven't been updating as frequently as usual, I've been busy with my summer class and being outside and doing lots of things that I haven't had much time to post some photos. The only thing is I got severely bitten by mosquitoes but it was worth being in the middle of nowhere singing songs and enjoying a beer next to the fire. This was my outfit, but for the evening I paired it with long jeans and my beige Keds. I'm really loving these sandals too, they are really comfortable. Happy Sunday :D

Hi Everyone,

I mentioned a while back that I took a whole film with my Minolta in April. I finally processed the photos, and firstly, I didn't even think any photos would come out, and secondly, they did lol, but it was very old slide film that they had to process into slides and then scan and put on a CD. I ended up having to do a lot of color correcting but I'm satisfied for the results, given that the film was very old. I will try and do more like this soon.

I posted that my sister is coming with her two cats. They will be living with us for the next year. I took some photos today to show you, you might notice a little patch of hair missing on their front legs, its just because they had a recent vet check-up. Their names are Willow and Sabbath. The black one is Sabath and the silver one is Willow. They are very sweet cats! I am keeping them in a separate room from my ferret Chloe for now.

Hope all of you have a happy June! I got my haircut yesterday at Aveda Salon and I love it, she gave me some nice layers and thinned my hair. I went to shoot an event tonight and after dinner my boyfriend snapped some photos. I am really loving this bag, it has handles and a strap to go around and carries so much inside. I saw a girl today with the same bag but in baby yellow but I like the baby blue. Tomorrow my sister is coming to visit I am really excited! Happy Thursday :)

Hi Everyone,

This weekend I decided to shoot with my Minolta SRT-200, film camera. I shot about 32 shots on Saturday and the remaining shots on Sunday. I'm going to get them processed tomorrow and I'm really excited to see the results. It was a really old film but it was kept in the freezer so the images should come out. My boyfriend took some photos of my outfit. I'm also announcing lots of new cat photos! I am giving two cats (sisters) a home to stay in for about a year so I will be taking a lot of photos of them :) I am getting them on Thursday, there names are Willow and Sabbath. Happy Tuesday :) And for now some old cat photos I've taken in the past...

Creating trendy Shorts

Hi Everyone,

Today's post is all about recycling clothing. If you have an old pair of jeans or shorts that you don't wear anymore, cut them up and decorate them, make them into a summer favorite. I did an example with shorts I thrifted. You can paint, add studs or draw on them too. Here is what I did with mine:

First Lay the shorts flat and have a ruler and a pair of good cutting scissors ready as well as a pen.

Next, make sure to take the ruler and measure and mark both sides of the shorts so you get even ends, like so:

Make sure you start a little higher and go down towards the center of the shorts

Pull out some threads from the shorts to create a more rugged look

Make sure to cut evenly and take your time, you do not want to mess it up!

You can wear them rolled or unrolled, here they are rolled up,

I have some old studs that fell apart from a belt that I am planning to put on them.

Here is also another example of shorts I made last year:

Weekend Part I: Saturday

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I wasn't able to post so I'll post for Saturday and Sunday in two parts because there are a lot of photos. On Saturday I went to the park with my boyfriend and Toby for a little picnic and then we took a long nap, made dinner and watched a movie. In the evening we went out to Honey Martins in NDG and listened to a live band with some friends. On Sunday we went out for breakfast, walked around downtown and then went for massages and I feel so relaxed :) In the evening we had dinner at Takara, a Japanese restaurant. I ordered Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura with Maki and it was delicious. Tomorrow is Victoria Day in Canada so most people are off but I have to work. I hope you all had a relaxing weekend!

My Day Off

Today I had the day off of work, the first thing I had a dentist appointment and you wonder why I don't smile in my photos is because I have braces, so my braces are coming off in 5 weeks! After the appointment I had lunch with my sister and she gave me a 45 minute massage at her Massage Parlor :D Later on I went to dinner with my boyfriend and took some photos of the General Tao chicken. When we got home we took a little fifteen minute walk together. Overall it was a great day :)

It was raining all weekend so my boyfriend and I mostly stayed home. On Saturday we did the grocery shopping and then made this tasty dinner and then cuddled up and watched a movie with popcorn. Three Looks For Spring

I decided to put this collage together, I used images from a shoot I did a while back, I've been doing a lot of research on fashion for this spring and these are the three things I came up with, of course you can use different colors.

The first look is all about taking a basic black romper and matching it up with a Satchal or wedges. This is great for strolling around the city or even for a more formal event. The second look is taking studded shorts with a leopard or light spring top matched with black open toe lace ups. And the third look is very popular this season, the Maxi Dress, you can pair this up with a belt, a frilly purse and some classy sandals.

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I had a pretty exciting day, the weather was beautiful so we took Toby (my boyfriend's ferret) to the park and she loved it, she met kids, dogs, a squirrel and after a long day in the park she fell asleep in my jacket. In the evening we went to Weinstein & Gavino and I ordered Angel Hair Gigi. On the first level they have a bar and the second two levels are for dining. I would really recommend it if your ever downtown on Crescent Street. So here are a bunch of photos from yesterday. I was too tired to edit them last night after dinner.

I had a really fun Easter Monday, with work off I got to visit a friend, I brought along my trench coat from H&M but didn't need to wear it because it was really warm outside. I knew I was staying out late so I made sure to dress warm even though I saw a lot of girls sporting their summer flats today. My boyfriend and I went to have dinner and on the way back we picked up these delicious cupcakes from Yuki Bakery, mine was Lemon with Vanilla and my boyfriends was Chocolate. Easter Shoot

Hi Everyone,
I did this Easter shoot yesterday and didn't have a chance to post it today. I hope you like it, I just used a basic white studio paper backdrop with one 180watt light (without a softbox) on a tripod pointing down at the ferrets. I should of taken more time to set everything up but we had less than an hour. My boyfriend served as the ferret placing/prop person and it took about thirty minutes. I was really tired when I got home last night and did these really fast and sent them out to my family. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi Everyone,

So its the dreaded exam period, and for the week I have three exams and a 2,000 word paper due. For some reason I spent my Saturday cleaning my room, its just the feeling that you want to do other things than study, so tomorrow I will sit down at a cafe and do my work, because being at home distracts me. I wanted to find a new photo for my website so I decided to go with a photo taken by Mustafa Unsal, in 2010. He graduated from Fashion Photography at Dawson College. Here it is:

I also did an edit on the About me section of my website, it hadn't been updated since 2010.
Apart from exams, I'm shooting a portrait for a magazine on Wednesday and right after my exams I will be modeling again :D So I'm super excited to be sharing you those photos because the photographer Jason Mousseau is A+++

So today I pulled out my trench coat because it was really warm, 11C in Montreal in the afternoon. Later on though it got a little chillier, but I wanted to rock my jacket out. Can't wait for spring to come!! I think all of Montreal can't wait. I attended a Pillow fight today in downtown Montreal, not as a participant but as a reporter, taking photos and interviewing people, I will have the story here as soon as I've written it and edited the photos.

Tomorrow is St Patrick's day :D I am going to try and wear some green to work, even though my uniform doesn't contain any sort of green on it... we'll see. Today I had a really unmotivated day, I woke up at 10a.m, ate and then went back to sleep until my boyfriend called me at 12:00, I forced myself to eat something and went online to edit photos and I only got one done. I'm just not feeling it today, the sky is grey and its raining and the dishes aren't done...

This morning I learned about the horrible earthquake that happened in Japan and this is very devastating news. I feel as though in the last 10 years we have seen more and more disasters, maybe its a reflection on how we are treating the earth. In any case, tonight we will go to daylights savings time so we will loose an

Yesterday was Nuit Blanche in Montreal, its when the metro's run all night all galleries are open and places which are normally off limits are not off limits. My friend Yannick organized a get together and one of the places we went to was the hotel The W. I had never been in there but upon getting there I instantly loved it. There was a blue room with couches that my boyfriend took pictures of me in. This room is amazing, if you ever do visit Montreal, you should check out The W in Old Port Montreal.
